LG today announced Optimus Pad, an Android Honeycomb Tablet at Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona.
LG Optimus Pad sports 8.9-inch display, Android 3.0 platform, and Dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor. It is also world’s first tablet with a 3D camera.

To differentiate itself from the competition, LG has included a 3D camera in the back. “With a flood of tablets hitting the market, we felt strongly that the LG Optimus Pad needed to set a new standard for what a tablet should be,” says Dr. Jong-seok Park, LG Mobile President and CEO.
LG Optimus Pad will begin shipping in local markets starting in March 2011. Ability to capture 3D content with the two 5MP sensors is the highlight of LG Optimus Pad, Android Honeycomb Tablet. 3D video watching will be done by either using glasses on the tablet’s screen, or by streaming the signal via HDMI 1.4 to a compatible 3D TV or monitor. 1920×1080 (1080p HD) Video recording is another highlight of Optimus Pad.
