Samsung has said it will be releasing the official Android 2.2 OS update for the Galaxy S in September, so users who do not wish to risk damaging their handsets by installing the unofficial version won’t have too long to wait for the official release.

Android 2.2 ROM enhances the performance and responsiveness of the smartphone.
