The next version of world’s second mostly used browser Firefox 7 Final is available for download now. But the official release will take another two days. What’s New in Firefox 7 Final
- Memory usage by browser minimized by 50 Percent when compare to Forefox 6. The JavaScript garbage collector works more frequently to free up memory and improve performance
- Azure Direct2D for Canvas: To speed up Canvas operations on Windows systems, added a new rendering backend
- Enhanced Firefox Sync: Bookmark and password changes now sync almost instantly when using Firefox Sync
- Added support for CSS3 text-overflow: ellipsis – for developers to display CSS 3 text that overflows the layout area.
- Added support for the Web Timing specification
- Telemetry: Added an opt-in system for users to send performance data back to Mozilla to improve future versions of Firefox. This can be enabled by installing an add-on
