Hi, i have downloaded the trial for cs5 photoshop…put the right blocking activation code into host file and put it serial…says it is invalid…downloading photoshop has changed slightly since before, would this have any effect on the code ? even with the interent off it still does say invalid…really frustrating.
This method only valid for 7 days only, after that it will prompt out a windows ask for new serial number or either u choose 30 days trials.. lastly is all the serial number that shown in keygen/any free serial number we can get from website no working anymore.. any solution to solve this situation???
Anyone know how is it that after installing cs5 i have no adobe host files? No host files at all for that matter and I have set my system to show hidden files….???
THis does not seem to work for me. I have managed to change the content of the file, adding these lines (presumably immediately after 127.0.0.1 localhost), also my file is named ‘hosts’ not ‘host’?
PS – CS5 still asks me to activate!, and renders the previous serial number I used as invalid.

hey does this actually work? this jus stops the suite from accessing the adobe servers ryt? so we could use the suite with a key which gets deactivated when we turn on the internet

open start menu, search for notepad. rick click, and Run as Administrator. then in notepad choose file, open. go to windows\system32\drivers\etc and choose hosts file. if you don’t see when you try to open it, it make sure “all files” is selected instead of “text documents”. (Notepad defaults to look for text documents first.) type in info, and click save.

To disable access to updates for all users on a given machine, administrators can create an admin preference file. (This file disables access to updates both from the Help > Updates menu, as well as automatic update checks.) Create a plain-text file named AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat with the following contents:

Also thought that this is worth mentioning:
It should be said that Adobe CS4 and 5 seems to try and connect directly after install on first run when it asks for Serial. So it’s been my experience that you need to disable internet connection even before you start installation and then do this procedure directly following install before you re connect. (Sorry for the run on sentence).
Oh and a fresh install is only possible if you go through the registry and delete all entries having to do with CS(whatever version you’re using).
How do you open registery?
Start–>Run–>regedit
As I am not computer savy, how can I make sure I am only deleting CS5 register entries and not other adobe software entries ?
because its not an .exe file to change the registry…you are not even going to regedit….
Before you indicated to go to regedit…now you are saying not going…As I said I am not computer savy so you are losing me in this answer…sorry.

Hi JC. That was to delete the old entries. Well we are not cracking anything here in photoshop. And you dont have to be a computer savy to do this. if your trial expired,there is no use of trying the steps in the post. dont follow the steps in the comment bro. That was to delete the old entries.

I had understood if the trial was over, I needed to clean the registry, do your 4 steps and then re-install the trial version.
So since the trial period is finished, there is nothing that can be done.
I can still open CS5 if I unhook internet before opening it.
Can this work if I’ve already installed cs5 and the 30 days has run out?
If not, how can I completely remove cs5 and do a fresh install and the mod?

You need to modify the security descriptor for the file to ‘take ownership’
and give yourself full access.
Right-click the hosts file > Properties > Security > …..

Hey, I cant find the folder where the existing “host” file is located so I can replace it, im not that computer savy, have windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Have also modifies system registry to nulify internet acces from adobe live and such acording to adobes instructions in their webpage, nothing works.
