Step 2: Goto “C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc”

Step: 3 Open the “host” file with Notepad

add the following lines to the file and save.

127.0.0.1   adobeereg.com
127.0.0.1   www.adobeereg.com
127.0.0.1   adobe-dns.adobe.com
127.0.0.1   adobe-dns-2.adobe.com

127.0.0.1    125.252.224.90
127.0.0.1    125.252.224.91

Step 4 : Restart PC and Your version of Photoshop CS never try for Internet Update.

    I thought i did this before and it worked and now when i try to copy and paste it it says i dont have permission….any ideas?

    do u know how to do this in a mac? im no longer on windows and i need a similar solution for stopping internet updates on my mac machine.

      I think that on a mac this should be the same or a similar procedure like on linux: the file is just at /etc/hosts, maybe OS X puts this in a special system folder… the thing is: you only need to figure out where the hosts file is located, I think the effect is the same on every OS.

      Its the same for mac.
      Just do
      sudo nano/private/etc/hosts then edit that with the blocks =)

        A little extra note on macs is that doing this in terminal may require a password to be entered. In the case of at least one of my macs, I was not able to log into hosts file without having first installed a password on my mac. the command i use is “sudo nano /etc/hosts”
